"Hare-y Situation, is a self-portrait I made in a time where I felt overwhelmed in life. I am at the centre of the painting almost entirely swallowed by leaves and hair growing upwards like vines, grasping on to two hares, animals that feel fantastical, symbolizing a way to escape reality, or trying to. Through this artwork, I express the the silent, suffocating weight of overwhelm and stress. Ultimately, it is more about accepting the sense of being stuck, observing the world go by while you are stuck in your own mental tangles.
